Darn Tough: The Ultimate Hiking Sock
Darn Tough socks are designed to work as hard as you do. Crafted with the most comfortable and durable materials, these socks will be the best you've ever owned.
The 1/4 Sock Height sits just above the ankle, providing the "just right" height that's fast and light. Perfect for low-cut hikers and running shoes, these socks offer ultimate support with no slipping, no bunching, and no blisters.
Darn Tough socks are built for all-weather performance, keeping you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The mid-level cushion density provides a warm and ultra-comfortable choice when conditions demand it. These socks are the best choice for the most hardcore hikers, staying up even during the most grueling hikes or treks.
Undetectable seam fusion delivers an ultra-smooth, invisible feel. Darn Tough's high-density knitting techniques ensure more stitches per inch, resulting in a more comfortable, durable, and great-fitting sock with no added bulk.
Darn Tough is committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility. Every material used in their socks has been carefully chosen and tested to meet their rigorous durability standards. They prioritize the use of Merino wool, which accounted for 56% of their yarn consumption last year. In early 2019, Darn Tough made a commitment to support the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) and shift 100% of their wool supply to RWS-certified Merino wool.
Darn Tough also utilizes REPREVE, a nylon 6 fiber made from pre-consumer industrial waste, to reduce the use of crude oil, benzene, cyclohexane, and other harmful hydrocarbons involved in the production of virgin fiber. While recycled nylon only accounted for 4% of their nylon consumption last year, Darn Tough is actively working to source more recycled nylon to incorporate across their product lines.
Lycra is used to provide elasticity, strength, and form-fitting comfort, representing 27% of the raw materials procured last year. Darn Tough is primarily focused on converting virgin nylon and polyester to recycled alternatives, and they are also searching for functional, recycled spandex alternatives.
Darn Tough socks are made in the USA, more specifically in Northfield, Vermont, where the company's backyard serves as the perfect testing ground for their products. After 40 years of family ownership, Darn Tough continues to knit every pair of their socks locally, ensuring quality and craftsmanship.
Discover the trail legend for yourself and experience the ultimate in comfort, durability, and sustainability with Darn Tough socks.
